Fairway Elevator's ownership team brings more than 75 years of combined experience installing commercial elevator systems across a wide range of industries and building types. Over the years, we've seen what works well and what causes problems later for building owners. That experience shapes how we approach every project.

Unfortunately, many elevator companies have damaged the industry's reputation through poor communication, inflexible service contracts, and the use of proprietary equipment that locks building owners into expensive long-term agreements. At Fairway Elevator, we believe there's a better way.

Our philosophy is simple. Treat customers fairly and build partnerships that last for the life of the equipment.

We focus on transparent communication, fair business practices, and non-proprietary equipment solutions that give building owners flexibility and control over their elevators for decades to come.

Today, Fairway installs nearly 100 new commercial elevators each year across Georgia and the Southeast, serving schools, hospitals, office buildings, and many other commercial facilities. Our goal is to support our customers from concept and design through installation, inspection, and long-term maintenance.

When you work with Fairway Elevator, you're not just hiring an installer, you're gaining a long-term partner.

Hydraulic vs traction at a glance

A quick reference for choosing between the two most common commercial elevator systems.

Feature Hydraulic Traction
Best for 2 to 4 stories Mid-rise and high-rise
Travel height Up to about 50 feet 50 feet and above
Speed 100 to 150 fpm 200 to 500 plus fpm
Initial cost Lower Higher
Energy use Higher Lower
Machine room Standard, or MRL available Required, or MRL available
Ride quality Smooth, with brief pause at floors Smoother and faster acceleration

Hydraulic Elevators

Hydraulic elevators remain the workhorse of the low-rise elevator market in North America. After designing and installing thousands of hydraulic systems, we continue to recommend them for many 2 to 4 story buildings where reliability and cost-efficiency are key priorities.

Common Applications

  • Office buildings
  • Medical facilities
  • Municipal buildings
  • Storage facilities
  • Churches
  • Retail

Traction Elevators

For taller buildings or projects requiring higher speeds, traction elevators are often the best solution.

Typical Advantages

  • Faster speeds
  • Greater travel heights
  • Improved performance in mid-rise buildings

LULA Elevators

Limited Use, Limited Access elevators are a compact commercial elevator solution designed to meet ADA accessibility requirements in buildings with lower traffic volumes and limited budgets.

Typical Specifications

  • Travel up to 25 feet
  • Speed up to 30 feet per minute
  • 14-inch pit depth
  • Single or three-phase power options
  • Machine room or machine-room-less configurations

ADA Platform Lifts

In some buildings, a full elevator system is not required. Vertical Platform Lifts (VPLs) can provide ADA accessibility when travel heights are limited.

Commonly Used In

  • Schools
  • Churches
  • Municipal buildings
  • Historic structures

Material Lifts

If ADA accessibility is not required but you need to move freight or materials between floors, Vertical Reciprocating Conveyors (VRCs) can be a cost-effective solution.
